A major part of the Home Information Pack (HIP) is the energy performance certificate or EPC as it is otherwise known. HOME ENERGY PERFORMANCE SERVICES is a business dedicated to helping reduce carbon emissions and helping people improve their homes energy performance rating for the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).

The EPC gives an indication to the home owner or potential buyers of how energy efficient the property is. Energy Performance Certificates tell us how energy efficient a home is on a scale of A-G . The most efficient homes being nearer A and the least efficient nearer G. The most efficient homes will have lower fuel bills.

The certificate also tells us on a scale of A-G about the the impact the home is having on the environment, better rated homes will have less impact through carbon emissions ( CO₂) and will leave a lower carbon footprint. The certificate also produces recommendations on how to improve the ratings and how fuel bills can be reduced by up to 60% if the improvements are made.
